"A polished, engaging production of Mozart’s Così fan tutte,... filling the stage with athletic comedic action at every turn."
Ken Herman, San Diego Story
Mozart's sparkling and satirical comedy comes to the charming Spanish Village! One of the composer's three collaborations with the librettist Lorenzo da Ponte, Così fan tutte, or “La scuola degli amanti” (“The school of lovers”), recounts the amorous adventures of two sisters and the men who love them. The young men enter into a bet confident that their beloved women would always be faithful. Putting the girls through absurd charades, they learn more about themselves and the nature of love than they bargained for. Mozart and da Ponte's work has stood the test of time, exploring emotional depths and tackling timeless questions that bedevil and bewilder us to this day. Full of beautiful melodies and inventively complex harmonic structures, Così fan tutte is as entertaining and poignant today as it was when it was first performed over two centuries ago.
